Brenna
Intro:
She's putting pen to the paper
Fingers to the keyboard
She's on her knees at night
Just praying to the dear lord
That she'll make it one more day
Just one more day

Verse I:
She's known this summer for six long months now
The sparrow in the yard makes a familiar sound
Getting dragged along, made to take a bow
She looks out at the faces, wants to be part of the crowd
She's seen it all, it's part of her fate
She doesn't get the point that she doesn't need a mate
She can't get it now, but she'll get a clean slate
All she sees is a lonely road, it might be too late.

Chorus:
You've got to open your eyes
And face the world
Do what you need
Let your heart be hurled
Do it yourself
And get it done
Make next time
You'll have more fun

Verse II:
She wants him gone, she's had enough
Soon she figures out he's not so tough
He loses his temper, and he loses it fast
This last time she sees him might be her last
He's got so many flaws, all of them she can see
All she wants is to help him, to set him free
Little does she know what he wants from her so bad
Will tear her apart, limb form limb, so sad.

Chorus

Verse III:
Tears in her eyes, the telephone is ringing
I'm on the other end with my guitar singing
Songs for a new girl, a girl starting over
She'll make it through him, this I assure her
Even If I'm just a friend, I'm helping her out
My tough love gets to her, she sees what it's about
Only I know what she wants, and what it's for
The fake comfort she got left her sore

Chorus

Outro:
She's letting me see her face
And all the world around her
She's getting to the end
And every bad about her
Will be cast away
Just cast away

My friend Claire, and some experiences she had. She wanted my friend and I to write a song for her, and this is is what came of it.
My friend TJ Nichols helped me come up with the lyircs for this, as he was friends with the girl it was inspired by as well. My friend Adam and I worked on chord progressions, but since I can't record, you can't really hear those. Hope you enjoy it though.
