*Updated 10th Sept. with alternative outro riffs and solo.

I like this one lots. There’s a bit of everything here. And as stated by me on previous occasions the Adrenalinn V3 is my only source for guitar and bass tones and effects. At some point someone’s going to ask me “do you work for Roger Linn?” I don’t! I just use his beautiful blue box.

The filtery riff at the intro (based on Adrenalinn preset 141, FSE effect, variation 4 with dotted 8th delay) that also exists throughout, is a simple riff built from pull offs and hammer ons on the G, D and A strings around the 3rd and 5th frets. It sures sound more synth than guitar but I assure you! It bubbles along steadily and sets up a nice groove. Then kerbang. Everything comes in and the groove is truly established. The bass part is simple but effective.

The flute like lick? That’s preset 76 with the FTR effect if i remember rightly. A descending line on the high E string that starts at the 17th and ends at the 3rd fret. With a dotted 8th delay too I think.

Then some clean chords enter. A strangely familiar progression. And behind that there’s this tinkling part which is just me running up and down the G string with a light harmonic touch with the A/linn providing the effect. The number of the preset escapes me at the moment.

A guitar solo. Well what a surprise ;-) But heck, I reckon the tone is happening. And for once I made a note of the settings because I’ll probably use it again.

The next section sees a change to the bass part. I played it in a similar fashion to that aforementioned flutey bit but on the G string. A change in the chordal accompaniment too. Overall the piece starts to become darker here. *Alternative guitar lines added now. The descending line is doubled. Then a short solo. Back to the descending line for the fade.

I must make mention of the drum loop. It’s a killer! Whomever the stickman was who recorded it for Sony Acid Loops I say thank-you! Hear that cymbal hiss. Love it.
